Looking for a song.link or Odesli Alternative? MTShare Is Free, and It Does More

For years, song.link (Odesli) and SongWhip were the way to share a song with someone on a different streaming service. SongWhip wound down, and now the public Odesli API has shut down too, leaving apps, bots and power users looking for a replacement. MTShare is that replacement: a free, actively maintained universal music link service, run at cost as a not-for-profit.

The same universal links

Paste a song link from Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal, Qobuz or Bandcamp, and MTShare gives you one short link that also covers SoundCloud. Whoever opens it sees the song with one verified button per platform, so they listen on the service they already pay for. Open a Spotify link in Apple Music, or an Apple Music link in YouTube Music, without searching by hand.

Matching is identifier-based (ISRC and metadata), not text search: MTShare only shows a platform when it verified the song is there.

What MTShare does that song.link did not

• Playlist and album conversion: paste a public playlist or an album URL and every track is matched across platforms. Signed-in users can save a playlist straight into their own Spotify, Apple Music or Tidal library.
• Native iOS and Android apps: share from the share sheet of Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube and the universal link is ready. Get them from the mobile apps page.
• Song recognition: MTListen identifies a song playing around you (powered by Shazam) and turns it into a universal link in one tap.
• Open links straight in your app: pick the services you use and a preferred one. Song pages show just your platforms, and incoming MTShare links can open directly in your app. On iPhone, with an Apple Music subscription, the song starts playing immediately.
• Concerts: song, album and artist pages list the artist's upcoming shows with ticket links.
• Artist profiles: artists can claim their links, share albums as one URL, and get a verified page with stats.

Free forever, no ads

MTShare has no ads and no premium tier, and it does not sell data. It is run at cost as a not-for-profit; a few outbound store links are affiliate links, which costs you nothing. Read the free-forever pledge.

If you used the Odesli API

MTShare has a documented REST API (see the features page) and is open to integrations for music-related apps, sites and bots. For high-volume or commercial use, email [email protected] with what you are building.
